Fun @ training

This is the first CLS training that I enjoyed the most..not because of the training material or the trainer but because of the people in the training and the role play exercises that we performed..they were really funny..i was in a team and we did 2 role play..one was on the wheels and the other on the mcdonalds service..it was good fun..also I got punishment for coming late after the break..the punishment was to tell the crowd about myself (girls wanted to kno abt me..) and one of the girl suggested that I add ‘Ah-haa’ after every sentence..so I started..hi im ankur..Ah-haa..i’m with Gecis for last 3 years Ah-haa :) and so on..everyone had a good laugh and enjoyed it a lot.. :) :)

These days I am reading a book call Mashi and Other stories by Rabindranath Tagore. It’s a collection of short stories from the time of pre independence Bengal. There is a story in it called The Supreme Night and from that I would like to share an excerpt..it goes like this..

Brainstorm

These days at my workplace I have been involved in many brainstorm sessions on different topics. There is such strong storm of these brainstorm sessions that it has blown away my brain and I have nothing left :D

Celebrity

This entire month people have noticed me for some reason and have commented on my looks, cloths, shoes, and hairstyle…When at the beginning of this month I didn’t shaved..everyone noticed and commented that I look devdas..i look weak..mere tabiyat kaharab hai..after that when I wore white shoes…white kyon pehne hai..bare smart hain…aankhon mein chubh rahie hain..kya yaar…jeetendra wale shoes kyon pehne hain…then on one Thursday I wore casuals..aaj Friday hai kya…aaj tu bahut baccha sa lag raha hai..you are looking young…u have lost weight..u look very cute…then when I wore a white tshirt..u look like a sportsperson..cricketer..u lookin very smart..u look different..hairstyle change kiya hai…

All of this make me wonder hw much people notice..and am I a celebrity.. :o) :o?

Today @ work..

..I completed another edition of the series of famous LEAN trainings..also I learned a couple ‘GREEK’ hindi words like ‘parakashta’ which means heights of ‘anything’..also ‘birbhavuk’ which means sentimental..and couple of more..which I don remember..i mentioned ‘GREEK’ because these words are not regular hindi words..when u hear them u don’t understand them and also its difficult to pronounce them.. (: I also had a coffee treat from Jold coz’ she won an award this month..thanks Jold :)..and in food I had chole kulche :)

My workplace has become very boring these days...there is no excitement..you come in the mrning..wrk during the day..n leave from home in the evening..there is no fun..no challenge..something new should happen..hw abt a promotion..geeeee :)..that will defenitely add some fun..also my EMS is jus a month n half away..ill complete three years..i hope i don have to do the same hackling again this time..that i do to in past..i wish :)

One Year

Functional Star

Ahhh...Finally..I am functional star media award for the month of june...after almost 5 nominations over last 2.5 years..i got the award... :) thanx to all those who were involved in selection and nomination process.. :)

i was so sick of not winning it..every time i was nominated...i had decided that ill tell my manager not to nominate me again..if i dont win it this time...

but i did..and it feels nce.. :) one of the things that i have been working for :)

Pat on the back

Last week (13th June) I organised the Rewards n Recognition cermony at my workplace. We did a small skit in which we used Bunty aur Bubbli (movie) as the theme. Bunty, Bubbli, and Pappu were our main characters played by Rahul, Preety, and Jigyasa respectively. It was not exactly a skit but these character were host for the cermony in the getup of bunty and bubbli. It was lot of fun..everyone enjoyed it a lot..and all of it went on with out any glitch..the fact that we didnt practiced much and all of it was impromptu..made it all the more fun and special..though the day it happend..i was really upset due to some people at my workplace..but next day i was really happy about it..everyone enjoyed it an we got a very good response and also people came forward and gave their feedback on the spot.. :) all of it made me proud and felt like giving a pat on the back for a job well done..and not to forget my team..Meenakshi, Smabhavika, Preety, Jigyasa, Rahul, and Deepa..we did a great job guys.. :)

also richa won the star of the month award.. u r the best buddy :)

i hope to do more such fun stuff..next thing will be in the townhall..

Movie Buff

Im becoming a Movie buff...In last 3 weeks I have seen 3 movies..Bunty aur Bubbli, 'D', and Parineeta..And i have created a hat trick of watching bad movies with these..though all three movie are different from each other..Bunty aur bubbli is a fun movie, 'D' is a action thriller, and Parineeta is classic love story...though there is nothing clssic about it...the high point for me from all three movies was...aishwariya rai's item number in bunty aur bubbli...thats was worth the money spent..Ash is looking sexy for a change and the song is fun with both Bs..its a good combo...

next one month i plan to watch more movies..and i hope they turn oout to be good..

Just the four of us

Four of us in mussorie after a 10 KM to and from Company Bagh. Gurpreet and Goldie are tired and me and richa are happy and smiling. :)

Dhanaulti/Mussorie

Last weekend (21/5-23/5) I went to Dhanualti and Mussorie along with Gurpreet, Richa, and Goldie. We had a long weekend as there was an off on monday. I had never heard of Dhanaulti till Gurpreet told about the place. Initially I thought of goin to Dharmshala, but since i wanted a break for a long time..we decided to go to Dhanauti. And after going there I dont regert the decision. The place is really beautiful. Its about 35 kms from mussorie and the driving to that place is best. This was the first time i drove in the hills (also the highway) and its the best drive a person can have. Big trees, different color flowers, cool breeze blowing..its all magic. The roads go uphill then downhill and again uphill..hair pin bends...zig zags..its lot of fun. After driving for about 2 hrs from mussorie to dhanaulti we reached the place and it started raining..we reached the hotel which had planned to stay at...but when we reached there we got to know that the hotel is being constructed..and the electricity is on generator.. :)
then we droce back and started lookin for other hotels..and there was no room available..after looking for a hotel for 1/2 hr in the rain and chilly winds..we finally found an hotel..its was a good hotel..but wht was more impt was that it was a sasta hotel..only 900 bucks for day...we booked 2 room...one for boys and one for girls :)...now the best things that i did in mussorie/dhanaulti:

1. The drive from mussorie to dhanaaulti..the best thing i did for a long long time
2. trek in dhanaulti
3. to and fro walk company bagh
4. and drive from mussorie to kempty fall

4 Years

Today i have completed 4 years of my work experience...this very date in the year 2001 i joined www.classteacher.com as web designer...and i started my journey into the world of flash, photoshop, elearning, and other lots of stuff accompanying them.. :)

i still remember gurpreet walkin down the stairs and leading me to the room where i saw ppl makin movieclips, characters, editing voice overs etc. etc. there was alaudin, mehmood, ejaz, aman, arpit all busy makin cbts for kids..also i could hear the voice over.."TRY AGAIN".."VERY GOOD"..and thats one thing that i heard for next 7 months while i made new cbts and also in my dreams..it was so haunting..all the time.."TRY AGAIN".."VERY GOOD"..but it was all fun...very exciting...editing sounds...making characters and scenes...learning new stuff..folks like alaudin, sinchita, mehmood, arpit and gurpreet...and hackling wit our boss rahul..

after my stint wit classteacher..i joind emind..as AIDP...i didnt knew wht it was..i joined bcoz i was tested on my capabilities of flash..and i thght i wld get to do some exciting work in flash...but for some months i had no work..and after that i got to make html pages in dreamwaver..it was not very exciting..i never liked the work..and after 10 months i quit..to join GE Cap..

I have compelted 2.5 years at Gecis and its been best 2.5 years of my total 4 years of work ex..and to put them in words..i need some time...so keep waitin..

All seems like yesterday..i wasnt sure what ill do on 15th may 2001..and today i have completed 4 years..writing this post.. :)

Recently i read Malika sherawat's interview...and she said ' she wants men wit more balls then her..' WOW.. that's some statement to make...do women have balls...which balls is she refering to?? she is def not the correct women...she is not right genetically.. :)

Nokia N91: My phone for future

Just the other day i went on Nokia website and found the new phone they are planning to launch by the year end. Its Nokia N91 music phone with 4 GB of hard disk, 2 megapixel camera, and more multimedia functions. The phone is being touted as an iPOD killer. And i think it will to some extent..considering the fact that this single gadget will be multipurpose in comparison to iPod's single purpose ie music. The price of the phone has not be announced but it is expected to be anywhere in the range of $400-500.

Mexican Food

Today I had mexican food..thanx to preetoo. It was me , Richie and Preetoo who went to this mexican resturant on MG Road called sweet obsession. The place has got some best cakes, pastries and ice creams. The food was good too. The quantity was good compared to the price. I had VEG BURRITO..tasted like maa ke daal and cheese dosa..(jus the visual).. and i couldn't eat all of it..since it was bahut zayada for my tummy. Preetoo ne aaj mujhe chicken khila hi diya tha almost..ek bite ek bite karke...she dropped it in my plate.. :(

overall it was good...and im lookin frwrd to trying some new mexican dish next time...though veg only.. :)

Today folks at my workplace celebrated my birthday by sending a card and singing a really funny song, which goes like this

HAPPY BIRTHDAY..

...TO ME..Hey its my birthday today..i am 26 years young now ;)..but i don like it...time is flying..i want it to stop and lemme enjoy the moment...

my day started with SMS from supandi and ended with her phone call.. :) thanx buddy..u r the best

in between i got SMS from charu, phone calls from anjali, kavita, sanjukta, shyam, shravan, anup, preety, and charu and as i said my ended wit supandi's phn call.

i didnt partied or something..like always i was at home watching TV and writing my MBA assignmen and also went to the post office :-|

though last nite i went out for dinner wit charu, anup and shyam..we went to this new resturant in City Center Mall..Moti Mahal Deluxe..The cuisine is mughali and it was very good..a typical indian food made very well and also like all resturants in ggn..this one's ambience and the decor was very different and nice..the cost is ok not very high compared to the quantity they serve...we also had golgappas before goin to the resturant...all in all it was a good experience

also we spend sometime roaming around the malls and talkin all the latest gossip happenin at our workplace. the folks gifted me Robbie Williams ACD, a pen and a greeting card. Thanx buddies.

its 1150pm now and almost the end of my birthday...and tomorrow a new start...27th year of my life... :-|...no please stop it...i dont wanna get old..i wanna be 27 years young ;)

BlueLine Bus

Today..after a long time, i travelled in a blueline bus..and it seems nothing has change..u still need to push and pull yourself through the crowded bus to move ahead..and if you are standing..u need to hold the handle bar really tight...and you will swing like pendulum...from left to right and vice versa...bcoz the drivers put on the breaks at high speed; very frequently and the some roads in delhi are bad..full of potholes and debri...and if u loosen the grip and the driver puts on the brake at high speed..ull land up at the bonet of the bus..next to the drivers seat.. :) bcoz of the force with which the bus comes to the halt..And this will happen if u r standing some where close to the conductor seat and the bus is not that crowded...if u r standing in the middle or somewhere near the driver ull probably be out of the bus :D.. and nobody seems to care..conductor is busy shouting the route and askin for tickets and driver is anxious to speed on and leave the other blueline bus behind...ladies are fighting for the reserved seat...someone got on the wrong bus number...some people have staff..there will be small kids singing vaishno mata ke bhet...the entire experience is worth the 10 rs ticket...u get more then the value :D

Focus

After attending all the Macromedia Conferences where they showcase all their products...i wonder what is their primary focus?? do they wanna make all kind softwares for web?? do they wanna be the one single standard for the web??
Each and every product of their serves some or other user group and each product is so good with the features it has that it makes life really easy (only while attending the conf). And to add to that...FLash is goin all over the place...web, tv, mobile, pdas, gaming consoles..etc etc.. and also after attending the conf it makes me that there is so much i dont know and there is so much i can learn (again..only while attending the conf)...but then after sometime i think...do i really need all of this..will these thing be really reqd in future...may be...may be not..but i think i should learn some of it... :)
so now i have decided to put my brains on CSS, FLash Lite, FLex, Breeze, and ofcourse Flash MX 2004 and AS 2.0...
HUH!! thats too much yaar...what do i focus on???

Macromedia MAX: Day 2

Aahh...today was the 2nd and the last day of the conference..and as yesterday the day started off with great Greg Revis. Today he took session in CSS, Templates, Dynamic Pages in dreamweaver. And as usual..he was at hi best..all charged up and everything on tips. CSS is great way of building HTML pages. A change in font color of 10k pages can be made by changing the style in the css file. The change will be reflected on all the pages.

then came CHAK..with Contribute...yawnnnnnnnn!!! this is wht we all were doin in this session..yawning...it was very boring..

and then came Breeze again by CHAK...but this was interesting since i like breezr and my NPI idea (Rapid Learning) is based upon it. it was very informative and there are lots of things you can do wit breeze when it comes to elearning. You can record audio, sync it with animation, include video, build quiz etc etc...a complete elearning development and management..and all very easy and less time consuming. :)

next session we had CHAK talkin abt mobile devices and flash lite. flash lite is another cool thing happening at macromedia and in the mobile world since macromedia wants flash to be available at all the devices which have screens. like mobile, pda, xbox, tv, fridge etc etc. Bill Perry also build an APP using flash lite. Its really easy to build an app as the actionscript is based on Flash 4 and its very basic. Nothing Complex. So anyone can build an app for mobile devices. Really Cool.

There were other presentations also..but really useless.

The fun part of the 2nd day was the way Bill Perry gave away the goodies to the audience. THe usual way is to ask a question and give the goodie to the person who answers correctly..but bill was jus throwing stuff at the audience..and the audience being Indian..showed their true colors...most of them were jumping over, diving, and pushing others to catch hold of the goodies. Free mein mil raha hai...toh kuch bhi kaise bhi pocket mein dal low...am sure Bill mus be enjoyin it and also sayin..."BLOODY INDIANS" :) really poor audience.

All in all it was a good day and hope next year we have a better conference...as they say at macromedia...USER EXPERIENCE MATTERS.

Macromedia MAX: Day 1

Today was the first day at the MaX conference...and as always i was very excited about the event. No...more then the event i was excited about the goodie bad ;)

The entire day we ran behind schedule as the we started late and then the sessions were very interesting...al bcoz of Greg Revies..who i think is a great presenter...the best i have seen anywhere so far...he really keeps you into the prsentation with his style..he always remains pepped up and keeps on tellin some or the other joke, especially abt his mom :)..really cool..he covered the RIA and videos. I think everyone who drinks and eats SODA ;) at my wrkplace should have attended his session on RIA and User Experience. It was something what we are tryin to acheive wit our elearning courses but haven't been able to do so. How to maximise user experience??

After the break things got boring. Actually there was too much information in too little time and to add to that presentation weren't as good as Greg's. I was finding it difficult to keep my eyes open ;D. But at the end things got interesting with a session onFlex. At the end of the day we also got Wrist Watches with Macromedia Logo on it...

All in all it was a good outing and a break from daily routine stuff ;)

Womens Day

today is womens day. women - a great gift to MANkind :) they are the best thing on this planet. salute ladies

Sony Walkman Phone

Sony has launched a new mobile phone and they call it W800i Walkman phone. The phone looks great and as the name suggests it has a music player which plays mp3, AAC, and ATRAC formats. it also has a 2 mega pixel camera. it great gadget to have. check out more at w800i.

Nokia 6230i

Nokia has come out with an upgraded version of my phone 6230. :(

It has a 1.3 megapixel camera and a bigger screen. Also 3D menu, higher internal memory. check out @ 6230i

MBA Assignments

Last weekend i completed my 4 MBA assignments. It was a tough job to write them all. I lost 2 pens, emptied 3 refills writing them. I had ink all over my palm because the ink was leaking. my neck and back are both acheing. my fingers are almost broken. and my right hand thumb has swollen. it has become so hard and it pains when i touch it. and also there is a black spot. phew!! this is the reason i don like my mba program.

its really tuf...i wish somebody could write them for me.

Aviator

Nice movie. Good performance by Leonardo. I have seen three movies of leaonardo. Titanic, Catch me if u can and now Aviator. All three movies are related to a real life incident which happened in early 20th century and of these 3 movies; in 2 he has played a real life character. its amazing how well he fits into these roles and performs them to perfection. cant imagine anyone else doin the same to the characters. the story of this movie is somewhat similar to Catch me if u can. its abt a person (howard hughes) who is ambitious and wants to make it big in the aviation industry. and he does it also. great performance by leonardo.

Also watching this makes me think...hw crazy americans are...and also the american society is as corrupt as one can be...sigh

i wonder if ths movie will get the oscars for all the categories it has been nominated.

BLACK (5/5)

I saw BLACK. Its a wonderful movie. The performance of Rani and BigB are awesome. I dont think anyone else could have done a better job then they did. The Art diresction and camera work of the movie is wonderful. The colors, set, the background score, everything is awesome.

Black is genrally associated with darkness...but in this movie you will find the true meaning of the word. They tell u in the movie but i don rmmbr now. will have to watch it again. ;)

Some scenes bring tears. :) not bcoz they are sad..

Do watch it.

RESIGNATION

Every other day i get to here of people resigning at my workplace. its such a bad feeling. i don feel good. and to add to that the work is not exciting any more. its same stuff all day. and also attitude of some people is so dissapointing. they all are so unworthy of what they are. its all so sad :(

i hope i get over all of this soon..

Long Long Time...

Today I had chat session with my friend Sanjukta after almost an year...it was lots of fun...it never felt like we didnt had a chat for such a long time..and things were completely off between both if us...all felt like same before...it was almost like starting from where we left...actually we never left..we were there always..but didnt had a chat.. :-) good fun..we BUZZZZZZZZZEED a lot on Yahoo Msngr... ;)

Finally The Happy Holidays are over..and I'm back to work..listening to stories of people how they enjoyed their holidays...went to diff places...unlike me..though i mus say i had good time with Arnav...he started calling me CHA CHA.. :) and taking him for a ride in the car (his fav thing) and also let him sit on the drivers seat and see him playing with the car keys and and the steering. :)

i hope i have more such holidays and i can make full use of them by goin out of town..
