Ride on Delhi Metro (Happy Holidays: Part 4)

Yesterday I went on a ride on the Delhi Metro.. :) I wanted to go for such a long time...finally i went on the last day of 2004...and i think so far it was the best thing (apart from the time spent with ARNAV) of my Happy Holidays :)


The ride on the Metro is simply amazing...its all very easy...buy a token..show it on the gates (jus like the ICARD swap in 22A) to make them open and then take the escalators to the platform..and look at the clock..and the train is there to board, dot on the schedule time...PERFECT..the trains are crowded but unlike the DTC bus or the blueline bus...no pushing, no shouting and no long stops...also nO pollution, no honking, no stopping at red light :) and u r at shahdra station in flat 20 mins...

everything on a metro station is spick n span shinin...escalators, lifts, illuminated sign boards..

the entire experience reminded me of singapore... :)

MMC (Happy Holidays: Part 3)

Yipeeee....

I have bought a 256 MB MultimediaCard for my Nokia 6230.. :)

Now i can store upto 50-70 mp3 or AAC format songs in it and make full use of this great feature of my phone

its a great phone...a complete mobile entertainment...music on the move..

i discovered another feature of this phone...usinf infrared/bluetooth you can synchronise the data (contacts, reminders, notes, to do list, tasks) in ur Phone with MS outlook in ur PC and vice versa...the data gets updated from your phone to the PC and vice versa...its so simple and easy...its amazing...

i wld recommend this phn anytime to anyone.. for all its features in such a small size...its simple amazing.. :)

Chandni Chowk (Happy Holidays: Part 2)

Me, Anup and Charu went to chandni chowk (OLD DELHI) to try the so called famous Paranthe Wali Gali. This was my first time in Chandni Chowk...and hopefully shld be he last time...the place is overcrowded with all the possible things in the world (humans, animals, rickshaws, cars, phat phat sewa, clothes, wires, poles, food, water, paan, etc. etc.).

The idea of goin to chandni showk was asically to try the old delhi food...chaat, mithai and paranthe wali gali...which i mus say was amjor dissapointment...and i wldnt recommend anyone to go there for pranthas...they make the worst and the smallest paranthas and that too fried...too bad...there are only 3 shops in tht gali which sell parantha ans rest are clothes shop...and also shops which give all the stuff one needs for marriage on rent...they shld probably change the name of the gali too...kriae wali gali ya phir...kapde wali gali...and the funny bit was ended up eating the food at some RAM BHOJ....yuck...a dhaba at 90A can make better paranthas...

there was a board which said..."AAP KHUSH HAIN...AAP CHANDNI CHOWK MEIN HAIN"

Happy Holidays-Part1

Hi All,

My Happy Holidays started on 23rd december and will end on 2nd january 2005. At the start of i was wondering are these holidays really happy???since i was gonna be at home all the 10 days :(...i had made some plans wit anup to go to haridwar and rishikesh...but tht program was entirely dependent upon him...and since he cancelled the prog..i had no choice but to sit at home...so my days started wit takin Arnav for a ride in the car...since he is crazy abt it...and wants to be in it all the time...other days some or the other relative of mine use to land up at my place...so again i had no option but sit at home...

this is how the intitial part of my Happy Holidays went...

Townhall :)

Townhall as always was a normal event but with a difference. It was all day event (almost...since we started preparing for it from the mrning itself), it started after lunch with each SDU named after a vegetable...my team was bhindi..and then there were different activities like march past, mummy making, ad spoof and tug of war...a normal RnR cermony and then the DANCE PARTY.. :)

i was involved in the AD MAG event...it went off badly as PK goofed up initially..and i think we didnt executed the whole act as we had thght of doin it...it was more impromptu then it was supposed to be...

it was a bad day for my team bhindi....we didnt won any of the activities we were involved in...we came back empty handed...though JC from my team got the SUPERNOVA award..congrats to him

the surprise performance of all of the townhall was the dance by the leadership team...they were too good...since u never expect such a performance from them...

there were lots of new folks this time...whole lot of new joinees...never seen before...they were the one's who were enjoyin the townhall the most...as it was their first time...and also since the party had beer n all..few ppl got drunk and were all over...and few were wit out gettin drunked..

i enjoyed the dancing bit...as i danced most of the time wit my best buddy SUPANDI... :) i got to learn a couple of steps from her...her zeenat aman moves are too good..i think no one else can do them better then her.. :)

all in all it was good event...hope it cld get better next time...

MARCH PAST

These days my team is practicing MARCH PAST for bi-annual TOWNHALL party. Some FREAK gave this idea of making the townhall as a sports day and ask ppl to do march past with dress codes and all crap. It seems I'm back at scholl...which i feel anyways...when i enter my workplace. So much chichi-poopoo...chik chik...uff its so boring and sick...

anyways..townhall are normal gaenerally a normal party and nothing more. but this time god knos whatz gonna happen...for next 2 days we plan to practice and practice march past...since practice makes a man perfect..woman are perfect anytime, anyday they don need any practice.. :)

What can I say about the classic...Its awesome...a must watch for all...Great performances by all..Dilip Kumar, Madhubala, Prithvi Raj Kapoor etc etc..

Urdu is a lill heavy (TAKHLIYA, KANIZ) to start off wit...but you get used it as the movie progresses...

Songs are great...great picturisation..the color look awesome..

SOunds cliched..no point writing...my advice... WATCH IT...

A typical Priyadarshan movie...great performance by Arshad Warsi..he will surely win awards this year for this movie...akshay is also good...and paresh rawal is also up wit his usual stuff..

i said ho toh raha hai...bas blog pas nahin jaa raha hai...

waise uski life mein bhi kuch nahin hua jabh se woh loo mein phasi hai... :)

2 Years

Hmmm....

completed my two years at GECIS yesterday... :)

it feels amazing how time passes..it feels almost like yesterday...or may be day before yesterday...i came for my NHO...and got mixed up in the call center crowd...almost would have joined them had i not ask the central HR about the eLearning (nobody knew what it was..then)..and they told me you need to go straight to phase 5 for all the joining formalities..

and then two days later i went to phase5...was starting to complete my HR things...and there came red faced Monika Kumar..askin me "are u the new GD?"..i said ya..i guess..she replied..."jaldi aa jao....graphics banane hain.." and i was like...WOW this is fast...

new people generally dont get work that fast...and i was on it from the first day...

then i got introduced to the team...shyam, deba, radhika, tanuja, bose, VC...

after two months i was off to IndiaCOE team...and there i me Preety..my best buddy :)

Antakshri

Yipeeeee.....

We are having Antakshri competition at our work place...and today was the semi final round..and we won the semi finals....we were losing after the first round...were at 3rd place... but the final dhunn round made all the difference..i guessed 2 songs right.. :)

finals next week at the RnR...

No No...not exactly what you thinkin...

Yesterday i won 3000 cheers point...cheers is a rewards and recognition system at my work place. Your manager rewards you for the work done...So my manager gave me 3000 points..

I had 1000 points pehle ke...so in total i had 4000 points..

i redeemed them all at one go...i got three items..cosco football; hippo pillow (both for arnav) and borosil glasses.. :)

its fun and great thing to have...i wish they have better items in future and me have the points ;)

POT LUCK

Lunch...Lunch..Our team had POT LUNCH today...

Every one got something made from there home...Rajma, Macroni, Dhokla, Fish, Poori, Rice etc etc

Everything was great...Priya's Cake and DSG's Chanay were the best..

and Nirula's Ice Cream was the surprise item..

Dana Chougha

Today graphics team went for lunch to Dana Chougha (DC)...it serves..indian and chinese..i didnt intend to eat indian food..since in last one month i had the same kind of food twice and didnt wanted to have a dig at ti again..but chinese at DC wasnt the right combo...so i went for indian...and same usual stuff...dal, nan, paneer... :)

by the way the occasion was..Ashish Maan's farewell..he is our FM..not financial manager but functional manager...for whatever period he was with us..he was of great help... visualisation..conceptualisation were his favourites.. Best wishes to him.. :)

Back to DC...the food is getting worse with every visit we have there...i wonder when we will have a good meal at a good restoraa..may e coco palm..preeta and neerja get ready...

aahh..we plan to go to CP this sunday...lets c where we go for dinner.. ???

Abhi tak koi kaam nahin hai...waiting for bhavna to land in...

QES fill kar raha hoon...DAP dekh raha hoon..EMS bharna hai...uff kitna kaam hai mere pass..

abhi abhi utilization par meeting hue...kitna funnay hai...NPA nahin bharna ..but meeting was for 1/2 hour... yeh kahan dalonga...abhi team lunch par bhi jaana hai.. :(

today mrning i read sudipta's story...kya likha hai by god...suicide piece in the story was a bit scary :O

but gr8 work done sudipta...i hope its not a real life story...its very unlike u...as u said u r very practical.. :)

And as i turned around...the number 2 project was there standing next to me..

hum dono takra gae the...she was sayin sorry.. i couldn't beleive my eyes.. :D

she is amazing...she is the best girl..after the TECH project though.. :D

according to charu, she has got the best features, she is cute.. :)

and the effect of all this was that i couldn't eat my lunch..i had to throw it all away :)

Its an excellent phone...though its has been just one day...since i have started using it..im still exploring it..

Now no more mobile hunting for next three years ;)

Hmmm...We all went to Tandoori Express at MGF Mall for shravan's treat...

Food was good...Though i wont recommed it again...may be one can go after a long break...

I hope sharvan is ok after the bill..

16th Sept was TECH PRO's birthday... :) and she was lookin awesome..which she does otherwise also..but something was special about that day...and then a week later also..same dress...ufff...out of this world...since then white has becoem my fav color.. :) i love white..

Finally Shravan became PM... :) we are goin out on lunch today..

I won best lean project award .... again.. :)

Kill Bill Vol. 2

Last week i saw Vol. 1 and it was full of action...Vol 2. has got more of story and less of action..but its great..its a must see movie...

Fida

Yesterday night I saw Fida Its an ok movie...3 on the scale of 5.
First half is very stupid..You will see Shahid Kapur talkin about Pyar mein mar mitni wali baatein..looting a bank...
Second part is better then first..its pacy and thrilling..good background score..music is ok..Kareena Kapur is looking good...Fardeen is his usual self..Shahid Kapur (Who made him a hero)...there is also Kim Sharma in it...Watch it on Cable or wait for a couple of months it will be on some TV channel..

Independence Day

We celebrated independence day at my workplace. We had mithai's and namkeens and a couple of games. It was fun. Dhokla was the most popular item on the menu...everyone liked it a lot and wanted more of it. Next time we will make sure that we have more of Dhokla then anyhting else. :)

F1 Crash

No No its not what you think...its not about the formula 1 motor racing...its about the F1 workstations installed at my workplace...they crash every other day and i'm without work for almost 1-2 hrs...its very sad..

too much of technology is not always good...
